Wow! Ok I know I posted a lot of pics from this shoot but I was really happy with the turn out! For those of you who are not familiar with these characters they are Gwendolyn and Velvet from the Playstation 2 game Odin Sphere.
About the Costume: My costume was created last year by 4 people! The wings and armor by the craft foam goddess Shea [link] The staff by my wonderful boyfriend Matt [link] The wig styled by Diana Tolin [link] and all the fabric pieces by myself. Vani's made her own sexy costume ^^
About the Shoot: So my friend Greg [link] (who does all the photography for "There will be Brawl") came up with the idea to try and recreate one of the level environments from the game. In the world of Odin Sphere everything is bright, glowy, lush, and has little sparkly bits floating around in the air. For the down shots of the forest Jenny Newman the set designer, dressed the set to mimic the forest in this illustration. They did an amazing job! You guys rock!!
This was also the first time Vani and I have ever cosplayed together! Strange to think about considering that we have been friends for the past eight years haha I hope you guys enjoy them <3 Fairy Love JoEllen

Hey guys! Thanks so much to those who came out to the SoCal Coplay Gathering! I hope you all had as much fun as I did ^^ There was a setback that happen with the park rangers so please read this letter from all of us on the SoCal Coplay Gathering Staff...
Hey guys! I'm sitting here with the team having our post gathering meeting! We are so thrilled with the turnout and to have seen so many happy faces today!
As many of you are aware, we were instructed to not sell tickets and/or accept donations by the Mason Regional Park rangers at today's event. Because of this policy, future SoCal Cosplay Gatherings are in jeopardy. If you feel the same way about the gatherings as we do, you'd hate to see such a fun and enjoyable event fade away:(. We are currently accepting donations to help us get back on our feet.To donate, please click HERE or to mail in your donation, please Email us at SoCalCosplay(at)yahoo(dot)com
This was our 6th event and 4th year hosting cosplay gatherings and we've loved every minute of it. We've enjoyed watching it grow and have always been amazed at the enthusiasm and creativity of our attendees. Thank you for your continuing support and we hope to see you all next year!!!
Thanks again for an amazing time today!

Helloooooo!
I know I haven't updated in a long time, but I promise I have a good reason! These past few months I have had the honor to travel with Admin of Cosplay.com to work on a photo project together. We are working with cosplay models from all around the world, shooting in exotic locations!! So far we have traveled to Milan and Florence in Italy, and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. It is truly a dream come true for me! <3 We'll be posting more details, the story, and information about our project once we have more to show you guys. But trust me it is worth the wait ^_____^
Houston/Anime Matsuri
I also got to go home to Houston Texas via being a guest at Anime Matsuri where I visited my family. A few days before the convention, Vani and I stayed with my parents and I got to show her where Mary and I grew up. I always look forward to visiting my awesome family (and the spoiling me with food and shopping isn't too bad either ~_^).
Anime Matsuri gets better with each year! I never thought it possible, but thanks to Kyandi chan, Vanii and I were models in a Lolita fashion show, tiny little crown and all! XD Check out all the girly goodness! A special thanks to the girls in show; You guys make me want to dress like a little cupcake everyday.
So what's next? Southern California Cosplay Gathering
For all you California cosplayers, I certainly hope you are coming to the Southern California Cosplay Gathering! Its happening Saturday, May 9th. It's only 10 buck to come eat and hang out with all us crazy kids, and I'd love to see you there!
Cha-no-yu Kyle/Admin, Adella, Ginny, and I will be attending a convention in Moscow called Cha-no-yu June 13th and 14th as guests. I've been fan girling over the cosplay that has been coming out of Russia for years, so I am pumped to meet the cosplayers out there!
Cosplay Meeting in Dusseldorf
Then in Dusseldorf, we will be at a Cosplay Day June 20th to meet all the German cosplayers and and take photos together, all set in a Japanese Garden.
On a closing note I just wanted to say that I have the best friends in the world. A few weeks ago they organized a surprise birthday party for me. I get teary eyed watching the Video thinking about how lucky I am to have them all in my life. I love you guys XOXOXO
I flipped out when I saw all the princess sweets! It really looks like something from Maria Antoinette! More photos of the party can be found on Vani's Flickr

Hey Folks!
I just got back from Florida for the Fantasy Gathering, hosted by Fantasy Ninja, where I was invited as a special guest. Let me start off saying how much I love intimate, outdoor cosplay gatherings! The venue was at a secluded pavilion beside a charming pond surrounded by swamp trees. I don't think the weather could have been any more perfect! I was happy that I had the chance to meet some fantastic Florida cosplayers. OMG there is so many talented people there!
Check out some of the photos I was able to snap of a few of the cosplayers on my Flickr account
You know there is a rumor that the Florida cosplay scene is full of drama, well...IT'S ALL TRUE!! OMG DO THESE PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO TALK SHIT! haha just kidding, everyone was super chill and genuine. Thanks to you guys who all came to hang out!
Indra was such a fantastic host and showed me around the Tampa area.
She took me to Busch Gardens (I'm dumb and though it was a real garden... go me!) where I rode a few roller coasters, but my favorite one was called Sheikra. There are so many exotic animals exhibits, like white lions (my personal fav), and we also went to the Florida state fair to see one of her friend who was showing goats! The baby goats were the cutest! They put their little hoofs up on your lap like dogs wanting to be picked up ^.^ If your looking to put on a few pounds, that is the place to do it, haha. Walking down the main drag, you are bombarded with the scent of bbq, candy apples, funnel cake, every kinda comfort food imaginable by the vendors with their treats on display. Later that evening we went to Downtown Disney for some food at the Rain Forest Cafe <3
You can see some of the photos and videos in my Flickr account
All and all I had a fantastic weekend full of eye-candy, delicious food, and good company. Indra, thank you so much for everything, my sister from another mother ^_~!
My report about my trip to a cosplay event in Santiago, Chile is coming up soon I promise! It's taking me a while to write up because is was such a wild adventure full of so much drama!
Love you guys!

Hello Princesses and Princes!
I have been getting some e-mails and messages regarding some confusion about the gathering, so I hope this post can answer some of your questions!
Are only girls invited?
Everyone is welcome! Boys, Girls, every age!
Do I have to have be invited on your MySpace to attend?
Nope! It is open you everyone!
Is it your birthday party?
Nope! My birthday is in April ^_~ It is a costume gathering that is princess themed.
Do I have to bring food?
You do not have to, but it is encouraged, as I cannot be suppling food. I suggest that you bring enough for yourself and perhaps some to share with your friends! Think of it a potluck lunch.
Why is it on a Friday? I work on a Friday!
I'm very sorry but I deliberately made it on a work day to keep the number of people down. This is the first event I have ever hosted so I need to see if I can handle a smaller amount of people. If it goes well then the next picnic will be on a weekend! Secondly the park is incredibly busy on the weekends, Id rather have a quiet atmosphere <3
Is this event the masquerade ball you posted about earlier?
No. This is a separate event. My friends and I are planned to hold the ball in October of next year, I will post more info on that at a later time.
~New Additions to the Picnic~
* There will be a picnic blanket decorating contest! Whoever has the best blanket will win one of my hand crafted items!
* There will be live music provided by classical guitar performer Jamie!
If there are any other question please feel free to ask <3 See you on the 14th!!

I invite you to escape from your everyday life to join my friends and I for a afternoon of enchantment and celebration of romantic fairytale princesses! Come to the lake and cherish the beauty of nature while sipping tea under the trees.
~Dress code~
What is a Princess Picnic if you can't dress up!? A dress code is encouraged of Elegant Lolita, Himegyaru , Romantic Fantasy, Victorian, Rococo, Renaissance, I encourage you to wear what ever it is that makes you feel like a Princess.
~Things you will need to bring~
A picnic blanket so that you have something soft to lay on. A picnic basket of your favorite food and drinks, also teacups and napkins. I'll be sharing my favorite homemade tea blend with everyone, and I hope that you can bring your favorite teas to share as well! Lastly admission and parking is free!
Professional photographer Indigo will be photographing the event and posting a gallery on his blog. Indigo has a way of capturing magic in his lens that you never knew was there, and I am honored that he will be covering the event! You can view Indigo's work on his website.
For directions to Lake Balboa visit google maps HERE.
Any Donations will go towards the betterment of the gathering!
So roll yourself in glue and bows and come over to the picnic! It's going to be a Princess extravaganza! More sparkles than you can shake a stick at! You will be throwing up glitter by the time I'm done with you!! If you have any questions please feel free to ask on my journal HERE.

The Mermaid photoshoot is up on Indigo's Blog! Ill be posting more photos here on firefly-path.net later.
As much as I love the Disney version, the original Hans Christian Anderson tale of the Little Mermaid has always struck a cord in me. For those of you who have not read it the prince ends up marring a princess from a neighboring kingdom. The little mermaids' heart breaks and she turns to sea foam.
I wanted to shoot a few of those scenes. The mermaid saves the prince from a sinking ship and watches over him for a while on the shore. Before he fully conscience and aware of what has happened a young woman from the temple runs down to the beach to find the prince. The little mermaid hides from the temple girl and watches her carry him away.
I wanted there to be a stark contrast between Brittney (Temple/Princess) and Vanessa (Mermaid). Everything about the mermaid is unearthly like her scaly shimmery skin and her clothing made of kelp. In contrast Brittney has a angelic bright face like an angel in the prince's eyes who has come to save him.
I wanted to thank everyone who made this happen! Vanessa, Brittney, and Paul you guys go far beyond anything I could ever ask for from my models! Thank you for getting soaking cold and wet for me! Diana who supplied Brittney's costume and make-up for both Brit and Paul, they looked perfect! Dave for the spectacular lighting and of course Indigo for taking photos of my dreams <3
I've been invited as a guest to Anime Mexicali! Ill be there May 18th. I can't wait to visit my fans in Mexico again!!!
!He sido invitada a Anime Mexicali! Estare alli el 18 de Mayo. !Estoy ansiosa por visitar a mis fans en Mexico de nuevo!

Hey guys a fairy needs your help!!!
Now that I have your attention I'm asking for your help on behalf of a young make-up artist who's goal is to raise enough money to make it to Faerie-Con. Her name is Kate and she's on a mission to spread her love though the art of faerie make-up! Did I mention how incredibly talented she is? Just check out her live journal (Elfstruck Make-Up) that shows step by step tutorials as well as video tutorials on how to do make-up that is truly other worldly.
She asks for a small donation of $15.00. If you do so she will sign you up for a weekly newsletter with two step-by-step picture tutorials, some make-up tips, hair-dying tips, etc.
Every little bit helps, I absolutely love seeing what she comes up with. If I could afford it I'd have her fly out to help out with my own fairy shoots!
Click HERE to find out how to Donate, and even if you don't donate stop by her LJ and stop by and give her some encouraging words, she's amazing!!

A few months ago my friend Gavin asked me to play a part in his BattleStar Galactica fan film. Being a huge BSG fan I happily agreed to help. It was the first time I tried acting. In doing so it made me appreciate the time and effort that gos into making a production happen. In the end I had a lot of fun but I don't think I belong in front of the camera. Im perfectly happy being a "behind the scenes" type of person. You can view the film on Sci-fi's website
