COSTUME CONSTRUCTION

This costume is completely useless outside of photo shoots. I designed it to make me appear as if I was towering over Mary. In each photo I am standing on a small fold out ladder. I measured my hight while standing on the ladder and added the measured amount of fabric to extend the dress.

Follow the dresses instructions; before you cut the fabric measure out how much longer you would like to extend it. Once you pin your pattern to the fabric use a strait edge at the bottom of the pattern to make sure your gradually extending each panel correctly. For the details around the top of the dress I first sewed the feather and bead fringe down (beaded fringe on top of the feather fringe). Then folded the 'double folded' bias tape around the top and sewed it down to give it a nice finish.

The bustle is detachable. This part was very easy to make. I simply took a long strip of peach organza and white tulle, pinched them together in the middle and sewed them together. The feather are all hot glued onto a craft foam sheet. First cut out a triangle shaped piece of foam, next glue the larger feathers down then the the smaller ones on top of the larger feathers. I then hand stitched the top of the foam triangle to the middle of the bustle. Its almost done! Sew on the pins to both sides on the back side of the bustle. Pin it on to the dress...BAM! Tail feathers!

ACCESSORES CONSTRUCTION

Not too many instructions for the accessories. The elf ears you can buy (HERE). The wig you can buy (HERE). Its the same wig I used for Chii. For the necklace I bough on e-bay. Its a very leafy designed necklace and I though it would add a touch of elegance to the costume. If you search e-bay you can find all kinds of elaborate necklaces for great prices.
