The folks at New Galaxy Anime commissioned me to make and model a Katy the Cat costume to help promote the DVD release of old school anime "Unico". I remember watching the anime when I was a kid and loving it, especially the Katy the Cat song ... so cute! In the anime the little black cat wishes nothing more than to be a human witch, she is granted her wish and becomes a real girl. The design for Katy is very simple so I embellished it a bit with appliques and decorative trim. If your interested in buying the anime be sure to check out the New Galaxy Anime website! For the location photoshoot Jason (a.k.a J-Fish) and I went to Paramount Ranch,I was so excited that the little wooden cabin and forest look very similar to the one in the movie!
