I've had this idea swimming around in my head for a few years now about doing a collection of faerie costumes based off of the four seasons. Luckly I have some really beautiful friends to model them for me! The first of the four is Autumn, modeled by Cortney (a.k.a Deformed Butterfly).
My inspiration came from both nature and art. The antique gold, maroon and yellow-gold all mimic the colors in autumn leaves. For the shape of the dress I looked at the art of (Alphonse Mucha) All of his models have a air of comfort and tranquility about them which I think Cortney embodies perfectly.
The gowns he paints all have graceful flowing lines, often surrounded by lush flowers in which I used the large flower wreath. For extra sparkle I hand-stitched strings of beads along the neckline. Tiny buds with little pearls in the center are sprinkled throughout the strings of beads. The wings are resin coated cellophane. Veins of gold glitter flow throughout them.
