I was aware of the Dawn costume contest held at Dragoncon for quite some time. That particular year we had to miss AX, so we wanted to compensate by going to Dragoncon. So, we decided to collaborate on a Dawn design for the contest. Luckly, Lilly had this wonderful faux pearl leather on hand, so the costume costs next to nothing to make. Once I started on it's design, it took Lilly about a week to finish (working on and off) Im really pleased with its outcome. Its one of my favorite costumes. The only thing is that its really not fun to wear; the fabric simply does not breath! I ended up winning 3rd at the Dawn contest. Later, I entered in a costume contest at our local goth/industrial club called the The Church where I won 1st place.
