Aktaie Goddess Gown

The Masquerade Fairies Collection is made up of four fairies, Brittany as the Blue Masquerade Fairy, Vani as the Indigo Masquerade Fairy, Adella as the Lavender Masquerade Fairy, and myself as the Pink Masquerade Fairy. Every girl deserves to be treated like a princess. I derive so much joy from turning my friends into these mythical characters for a day, dressing them in beautiful gowns and placing them in an environment to match. This is a dream project in collaboration with Photographer Indigo. With the talent of Indigo, the beauty of these ladies, and help of my friends we have brought these fantasies to fruition! Each gown was designed to be something that encompasses my vision of what fairies would wear to a Masquerade Ball. When designing the four fairies I sketched out the things that first come to mind when you think of the classic fairy princess: butterfly-shaped wings, flowing gowns, and long, wind-swept hair. These are the creature you find in castle courtyards, hedge mazes, and royal gardens. Pruned and proper, elegant and refined, every gem, every flower, was thoughtfully placed to work in harmony creating the visage of a fairy princess in full regalia.

The Dragoon Warriors are ancient feral women who inhabit exotic terrains such as underground caverns, mountain crests, misty lakes, and rolling sand dunes; anywhere far away from society where they can exist in blissful solitude. Their dragon blood makes them extremely territorial and greedy, hording the treasures they find. They often adorn themselves with lavish jewelry. Each of the warriors draws their power from one of the four elements: Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Summoning these elements reflects in their outward appearance. Dragoons live three times the life span of a human. Their lastingness has given them a copious amount of time to master their own elemental magic, making them adept warriors. Despite their longevity, they are known to be short-tempered and easily thrown into a furious rage.

Should an outsider find their self within the Lair of a Dragoon, one of three things will occur: the Dragoon might toy with the visitor, amusing itself with a predatory game of cat-and-mouse. The Dragoon might also send them to acquire and deliver great wealth to the Dragoon in exchange for their life. However, if the season is right, the visitor might befall the most dangerous of fates; the Dragoon might take a mate. These four Dragoons are yet another project bought to life through the lens and passion of photographer Indigo. Be sure to visit Indigo’s website to view more of his phenomenal work!

Mermaids sometimes sing to people and gods and enchant them, distracting them from their work and causing them to walk off the deck or run their ships aground. Other stories depict them squeezing the life out of drowning men while attempting to rescue them. They are also said to carry humans down to their underwater kingdoms. In Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid, it is said that they forget that humans cannot breathe underwater, while others say they drown men out of spite.

The musing mermaids is a collection of of beautiful sirens enchanting and enticing mortals with their other-worldly beauty. Photographers captures these mythical sea maidens in their natural habitat.

Hey! Just saw the makeup tutorial on YouTube. (The mermaid one that is) and I was amazed; not only by the makeup, but the costuming as well. I have always wanted to do something like this, but never known how to get there. is there any advice you can give me? Do you want an apprentice? Just kidding! But any little tidbits would be well appreciated.
Thank you for you time,

Start playing dress up! I know that sounds silly but trying out new ways of creating a look is how I got into this. Find something that inspires you, go shopping to find a outfit that fits what you have in mind and alter it into what you imagine 🙂 You don’t have to be talented in sewing to make a costume ^_~

How I wish I have enough money to buy clothes/dresses/gowns/costume like those in the picture .. (-_-‘) But by looking at those pictures one by one, it made me feel contented .. I don’t know but, I think there’s a magic behind those costumes .. A magical story, I think, that make the costumes more alive in the eyes of everyone … More Power !!! God Bless !!! ^_^

WOW. those costumes and those photographs are too amazing for words! I applaud you, the models, and anyone else that put their work into these photos!

Loveless1019 - November 7, 2010 - 9:35 pm

I am amazed by your beautiful spectrum of all these fairies, each and everyone clothed in such amazing gowns and mystical outfits. I have to say I am jealous of these girls, they have experienced magic that I know I’ll probably never be able to enjoy for myself. I almost broke down into tears once I began reading your opening post on the News page, and I was, in fact, most interested as to what you would categorize me as in the fae world if you knew me in person. ^.^

When I stumbled upon your profile the first time I ventured on ACP, I was in shock. I fell in love with your costumes.

Having just perused most of the posts here, I have decided. If I actually make it into the film and TV industry, if one of my stories actually gets made, I am going to fight to get you on the costuming staff.

Your talent and vision have inspired me in my writing, and I know it would be amazing to have you create for those same stories one day.

Keep up the stunning work 😀

Elizabeth - June 1, 2013 - 1:05 am

I have a commission Im hoping to save up for and was wondering if you could do a full Unicorn costume, obviously not like a horse head or anything but something more along the lines of the Cats costumes from the musical but just a unicorn?

Leah Mckeown - July 10, 2013 - 10:44 pm

Hi there,
I have searched all over the web for a Rapunzel costume from the hit movie “Tangled” and none have come far to the one I seen made by Aimee Steinberger, she isn’t able to make another due to her being busy with other things and has gave me your contact in hope you could possibly make one like the one she did. She sells the material everything that is needed so is just a matter of finding a dress maker now to put it all together for me!
I have just opened my own nanny company and from previously working as a princess doing children’s parties in Disney character I want to adapt this into my childcare doing bookings for Rapunzel sleep overs and baby sitting. I would use you throughout my business venture as eventually the dresses would have wear and tear and I will also be looking at getting other princess’s as the business develops so definitely future work for you, which I imagine you don’t even need but would mean so much to me to have high quality made dresses to which I see you provide from your fabulous gallery.
Hope you can help thank you in advance Leah Mckeown – Nanny On Call.

I love all your work! I’ve been a fan for years. I love the dragoons an had an idea for an ice dragoon that I’d love to commission from you but there is a twist too it that may be a challenge. The challenging part to the costume is the dragon scale chainmail around the arm bands, wrists, and small overskirt that fits just over the hips an goes to a point in front/back. Would you be up for the challenge? If you have any idea’s on a different design around it I’d love to hear them as well!
